BCPA AGM Weekend Report 2011
Hosted by the Executive and supported by the Warrington Area Group the weekend was at the Best Western Fir Grove Hotel, Warrington.
This modern, well-appointed hotel offering every comfort was a delightful venue enabling friends old and new to gather in an informal manner.
As always, it was a full weekend including meetings of the Executive, Coordinators and the AGM.
At this enjoyable and valuable occasion we shared ideas on how to look forward in caring for cardiac patients.
As is the custom, Friday evening was an opportunity for all those attending to meet informally, to meet friends old and new – for many the one time in the year in which they met up in this way.
Saturday morning was a time for members to visit Warrington or to explore many of the attractions in the surrounding area.
The AGM followed on Saturday afternoon during which, as your chairman, I reviewed the past year and looked forward to the future of the Association.
The accounts were received. Derek Holley was once again reappointed as the Association Treasurer. Some Trustee changes have occurred this year with Alan Lea retiring after giving many valuable years to the Executive. Mrs Barbara Atkinson was re-elected.
We also had an excellent speaker in Barbara Harpham from Heart Research UK.
The Gala Dinner on Saturday evening was as ever enjoyed by all. This was contributed to by the excellent standards of the Fir Grove Hotel and the friendliness of the hotel staff.
The collection of photos from several contributors shows how enjoyable and successful the weekend in Warrington was.
